The Business Visa Program (BVP) facilitates travel between the United States and Colombia for business events, such as meetings, training programs, and trade fairs. Companies participating in BVP have access to priority visa-interview appointments for the business travel of qualifying employees and a dedicated Consular Section contact for business visa questions.
In connection with business travel, participating companies may schedule visa-interview appointments on behalf of their employees. Employees’ immediate family members (i.e., spouses and unmarried children under 21 years old), who seek to accompany the employees on their business travel, may attend the same appointment for their visa interviews.
BVP Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for BVP, companies must meet the following criteria:
- Engagement in substantial, ongoing business activity in the United States.
- Direct employment of a minimum of 50 full-time employees, who are based in Colombia.
- Pass a rigorous security check conducted by the Embassy.
NOTE: Participating companies may be of any nationality (i.e., U.S., Colombian, third-country, or multinational).
BVP Application Process
Companies seeking to participate in the BVP must provide detailed information regarding their business by completing the BVP Application Form in its entirety and submitting the completed form to the following email address: email@example.com. Inquiries regarding the BVP application process may also be directed to this address.
After reviewing an application, the Consular Section notifies the applicant company by email whether it meets the BVP eligibility requirements. If the company qualifies, the Consular Section provides additional instructions by email on how to utilize the program.
NOTE: Providing incomplete information in the Business Visa Program Application Form may delay review and processing.
