The Interview Process
- Once USCIS has approved the petition, it could take 6 to 8 weeks, before the case arrives to the Embassy in Bogota, Colombia.
- When the case is received at the Embassy, we will send the beneficiary a packet of instructions that provides further information, including how to book an appointment and what documents the beneficiary will need to present at the interview.
- Visa applicants/beneficiaries must wait to receive the packet of instructions before scheduling an appointment. The Embassy is not able to process your case before that.
NOTE: Although a K-visa petition is valid for 4 months, consular officers are able and will extend the validity. If the appointment was scheduled after the initial expiration date, you don’t need to move your appointment; the consular officer will take care of this issue at the interview.
