Message for U.S. Citizens – Death of Former President George H. W. Bush

Former President George H.W. Bush died November 30, 2018 at his home in Houston, Texas. The flags at U.S. Embassy Bogota will be flown at half-staff for 30 days and the Embassy will observe the National Day of Mourning on December 5, 2018.

The Embassy will be closed to the public on December 5, 2018 and all consular appointments will be rescheduled for the earliest opportunity.  U.S. citizens and visa applicants with appointments will be contacted via email regarding their appointments. U.S. citizens with emergencies should call +57-1-275-4021. The U.S. Embassy in Bogota will have available a book to receive messages of condolence on former President Bush’s passing.
