Location: Bogota

Event: The Embassy advises U.S. citizens that there is protest planned outside the U.S. Embassy at 1:00 p.m. today, November 24 to protest U.S. government presence in Colombia.

The Embassy advises U.S. citizens to avoid areas around demonstrations whenever possible and exercise caution when in the vicinity of large gatherings as even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without any warning.

The Embassy is closed on November 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. U.S. citizens with an emergency should contact (601) 275-4021 for assistance.

  • Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Exercise vigilance.
