16 MINUTE READ
February 14, 2023

Location:  Bogota

Event:  The U.S. Embassy informs U.S. citizens that the location of the demonstrations planned in Bogota on February 15 has been updated.

Demonstrators are now expected to gather from both Parque Nacional and Monumento a los Caidos and march towards Plaza Bolivar.  This new route could disrupt traffic near the U.S. Embassy mid-morning, and downtown through the afternoon.

The Embassy advises U.S. citizens to avoid areas around demonstrations whenever possible and exercise caution when in the vicinity of large gatherings as even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without any warning.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid protest areas.
  •  Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Exercise vigilance.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Plan for alternative travel routes.
