Announcement of the visit of the Hospital Ship USNS Comfort to Colombia

On Thursday, November 8, the Ambassador of the United States in Colombia, Kevin Whitaker, along with Colombia Health Minister Juan Pablo Uribe, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luz Stella Jara, and Deputy Minister of Defense, Diana Abaunza announced the visit of the USNS Comfort Hospital Ship to Colombia, at the facilities of the US Embassy in Bogota.

The Comfort Hospital Ship comes to Colombia as part of a humanitarian mission between Colombia and the United States to provide treatment and medical assistance to vulnerable populations in Turbo and Riohacha. Colombia is the only country where the vessel will provide assistance in two regions, which reflects our close and continuous cooperation between the two governments.
